I want to buy myself this

JOHN PARRIS SPECIAL 3/4 JOINTED CUE IN ASH | eBay

Mrs Odd is reacting in a peculiarly angry way

    Ideas suggestions read with interest.

My idea is buy it, hide 2 bank statements and make it up by the 3rd statement

I also have a Mondeo and I know where I can buy a cheap 5.5 Passat with I think vane problems. This cue is the blonde in the short skirt and boob tube that winks at you outside the chipper....

dress mrs odd in a particularly sexy outfit, short skirt etc,, and take her to a particularly sleazy establishment where they have a snooker table. accept a bet from someone and lay down a large sum of cash. obviously you win and take this cue as part of your winnings, so mrs odd is none the wiser. obviously this is all pre arranged.
ps, mrs odd can wear what she wants of course, the sexy outfit just sets the scene.

Lifetime best break of 49, she knows I'm not that good. Short revealing garments works well tho and your thinking appeals to me

Highest break of 49 & you're not that good? I'd be chuffed with a break like that, it's about double my highest ever break.

£700 for a cue though? I'd want it to double up as a light sabre for that.

Undo a lead to the starter motor on your car & tell Mrs Odd that it's the driver's side vane manifold piston ring firing mechanism that needs to be replaced & it costs €750. Then you can say that that car's a money pit & you need to replace it with a nice reliable VAG car before the nearside vane manifold pistonring firing mechanism also goes.

Hey Doc, good call on the John Parris cue, most snooker players aspire to owning one.

A really good friend of mine bought one around 10 years ago and paid around £400 at that time iirc.....I used to play with him regularly every Sunday, he used to be a really good player and knocked about with some fairly well known figures in the world of snooker in days gone by. Unfortunately he has a really bad case of the "Yips" now and can't correct it, but still plays through.

Mine is a more modest £200 job, I always struggle to get one a decent length at 6'3" and play with a filed down tip to around 7mm from the std 9mm versions.

Its definitely one of those that if you want it, you really want it.

Perhaps a combo of your loved ones chipping in for xmas and coming birthday + an amount added by you will get you there?
Might also be worth having a real clearout of the house, loft, garage and shed and look to do a car boot sale??
I do this from time to time and get some space back, rid of my old rubbish and usually come home with around £150 - £200+

Personally I haven't played much regular snooker in the last few years, and probably would struggle to get into the high 20's - mid 30's.....the skill + knowledge is still there, but the body is older and fuller and eyesight failing for the near sighted shots.....lol

Are you sure you can't get a version cheaper by making your own to suit on the Parris website Doc?
    Worth checking out.

Maybe we'll get a game one of these days?

    Good luck buddy

Can't get any traction on this. I got "if you can make it up save it up" Mondeo needs a grand spending on it, you're not getting enough work etc. All true but it's the Carol Vorderman of cues Thanks for the input guys

could you not sell some stuff, you body for instance. would mrs odd mind that, especially if you bought her something nice out of the proceeds. apparently some rich business ladies will pay a lot for the company of a gentleman for an evening. business men will pay even more , especially if you whip them
