Sending txt's from car with tech pack

Hi All
2 months in and I am loving my C7, 2.0tdi,avant,garnet red,Black edition with segment alloys,led headlights,tech pack,pana roof.....stunning!
Only thing I can find that is slightly frustrating is that I cannot reply to txt recieved.
I can recieve and read them with no problem on the pop up screen, all the google maps thing works really well, phone connects with rSAP with no problems.
But it will not let me reply to any txt's, all the templates are there as though ready and you go through the reply procedure and at the last bit it says "Unable to send".
The dealer says this is because this function isn't enabled for the UK market, anyone else been told similar??
Could this be enabled in VCDS??

My wife can send txt In our C6 from the car

I can't connect with rsap with my Windows Phone but I can send the template texts from the car just fine when I put the sim card in the dash of my c7. Might be worth trying that to see if it is an rsap problem.

Thanks for the reply......yeh I tried putting the SIM in the dash and still no joy.....interesting that yours works fine, I wonder if there is a box in some s/w that needs ticking???

I don't recall setting anything for this, but had the car well over a year now so could just be I've forgotten. Might be that you have to put the sms centre number in somewhere but I'll have a quick rummage around the menu's tomorrow, if I remember, see if anything rings a bell. For sure the dealer telling you the function is disabled for the UK market seems not to be true, unless it was disabled later, mines a 12 plate.

Finally remembered to check settings, there is a section to add sms centre number, might be worth check this is correct.

Thanks for checking, I have already checked that, going to call audi uk this week to get a definitive answer on this. It would be handy sometimes to be able to reply to txt messages

no problem, hope you get it sorted, it can be useful sometimes, though would be better if you could edit or add to the template responses, they never seem appropriate for what I need...

Heard back from Audi technical this morning, they are saying this function is in developement and not fully functional yet????
I had a long discussion with them about why sending seems to work for some, but not on my car but they just shrugged their shoulders and say I can't understand that!!
At least they proved that the dealer was wrong to say its disabled/illegal, apparently the function is fully operational on new A3, A7 and A8.

This is very strange - the text function used to work. I change my phone and it connects via rSAP, all function are working fully, but sending text no longer works....!!
I have tried removing the phone profile and adding it again - but still now joy....

So wondering if there is a setting somewhere to enable sending text - must admit I dont remember setting anything with my first phone....
