Thanks for the info. Glad I haven't had mine done although the place that I asked to quote me on a remap were adamant I should do...

Gonna do lots of those places out of some big bucks!

I can almost hear some people's tears hitting the corn flakes this morning.....

It was inevitable and correct in my opinion after having to drive through many black smoke bombs left by people with dodgy remaps and DPF removals. Bring on the regs!!! Although I'm sure people will fins a way round it...

some people have the dpf body still just gutted the inside so unclear if they will get through the mot as it seems it will only be a visual check and emissions

Do kinda feel sorry for those with post 08 A6's with them fitted. 4 of my neighbours with (albeit smaller) diesels who've had problems with their DPF's since they only do local non-motorway miles and now have take them on an unnecessary M'way run to stop them clogging up. 3 agree they'll stick to a petrol model in future And then there are those that have removed their DPF's. Luckily those that have LPG cars find their emissions are so small and definitely 20% of a petrol variant.

I feel sorry for the people who bought the diesel cars and only do local driving, not motorwary, and were badly advised or did not know the issue with having to get them regened by a longish drive. For the vast majority rest of us it is not a problem.

Well I only do mostly local trips and do an unnecessary run every month to avoid problems but I new I should have gone for a petrol at the time but like the torque and really dont mind as I enjoy the chance to get out in the car on my own for a bit of peace so ita a trade off but next time I will definitely go for a petrol honest lol
