Just came across this little scam this week. I ordered 2 tablet PCs for Christmas presents one supposedly based in Portsmouth. I just received this email

    Dear customer,
Sorry to bother you.I am Shelack , from Visa2012 store at Ebay.
I am very sorry that the item you ordered is out of our UK stock at the moment, in this case, I wonder if it is ok to ship your order from China by China post with tracking# or refund to you?It will take 10-20 days for arrival
Please let me know what your idea is.
I apologize for all the inconvenience it caused you.
Please, please don’t leave me any feedback other than positive feedback, I am keeping honest all the time and trying my best do things right.
Thanks for your kind understanding and continuous patience.
If there is anything we can do to help you, we shall be more than pleased to do so.
We solicit a continuance of your confidence and support.
I am looking forward to your reply soon .
    Have a nice day!
    Shelack

I talked to eBay "customer service" they said the seller is based in China but has a "UK Warehouse" Apparently it's legal and acceptable to make this claim. I feel a visit to PC world coming on

I talked to eBay customer service once, probably the only time I've ever discussed euthanasia with the wife.

Me of course, I love her dearly, I'd never want her to come to any harm.

    How much were they?
I usually assume if some electronic device is really cheap it'll be a China job no matter where they say they're from.

Doc, I bought one last week from a seller with an address in Cardiff, and it arrived in two days.
As someone else has posted, they are all made in China, Korea, or somewhere else out East, so what you get will still be the same thing.

£149.00 so not really cheap.I was getting it delivered to Derry so 2 days postage but it is a 20 day wait from china. I know most things are made there and the quality seems OK on ipods TVs etc. If you say you're based somewhere that your not then why and what have you to hide. I actually got one delivered from Wales in 3 days. Returning stuff to China is a nightmare, stuff sent recorded is never collected from the post office the money is dead if the item is faulty

I bought stuff from China before mate, took 4 weeks to arrive, was damaged so I returned it recorded delivery, thats over a year ago the Chinese people never collected it from the post office. You have to file a claim with flea bay within 42 days from date of purchase I think they were less than helpful when I talked to them. I have discovered that if a seller doesn't have a full address or an address I can read without translating it then it's better to buy from someone else
