Hello everyone, thanks in advance for any advice given and time taken on your behalf.

I unfortunately had a bad experience with a car dealer who sold me on his word that everything faulty would be addressed and then fobbed me off, so I have rectified almost all of these issues at my own further expense, but have just finally bit the bullet with the most pressing issue. This was with my ABS Module failing which is apparently a common fault on the A4. I sent this off to BBA Re-man who informed me that it was beyond repair, and sold me a replacement for £476. As my original unit was knackered it wasn't possible to read the codes from it so I have to start from scratch.

I fitted the re-conditioned ABS Module (complete) without issue but am now struggling to re-code the module to my car. I have a friends VCDS/VAG-Com so should be ready to go. My problem is that even following Ross Tech instructions to obtain my login code and softcode the VCDS will not allow me to login to my ABS to re-code it, so I guess I am entering the wrong numbers? The VCDS works perfectly with it's owners Seat Leon Cupra R and again with my Wife's Golf 1.8T, so I doubt issues there.

    I have a 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro Petrol Manual.
    According to Ross Tech my:
    Login should be 09395
    Softcode should be 04495

    ??

I have also tried two indi garages who do not have the correct equipment to code the ABS which has led me to borrowing, although my friend is a little precious with his lead, so I'd like to return it as soon as possible (along with his netbook).
I would be very grateful indeed if someone could point me in the right direction to obtain the correct codes so I can get my car back on the road (with winter wheels and tyres!) before the tyres rot and don't get to enjoy the snow!

Hello, I have a similar problem and wonder whether you every managed to sort it and how.

My car is an Audi Quattro 3L V6 petrol A4 avant 2003 sport 6 speed manual (engine code ASN and model 8E5). I also have a replacement unit from BBA-Reman and also used the same codes as you. I appeared to be able to login but not code it. I used VagCom running on a laptop with a pukka cable and also Snap-On computer both to no avail. I am wondering whether the codes are wrong. For example, my PR code is 1LT, but Ross Tech has this listed against 16" wheels when mine are 17".

Hence, I would love to hear from you either way as to whether you fixed it or not and if so how, e.g. codes you ultimately used.

    Thanks.
