08 A3 iphone options....

I recently bought a 2008 audi a3 1.9 TDI E. It came with a dash mounted phone cradle and bluetooth.

Im using an iphone 4 at the minute, and dont have the adapter to mount it to the dash cradle yet, but the bluetooth and steering controls work well without the cradle.

My problem is that i want to get some sort of iphone interface so that I can play the music on my iphone through the stereo. If I buy the correct cradle for my iphone/dash mount will this allow me to play music through the stereo, or is it purely for holding and charging the phone?

At close to £100 for a new cradle, and around £60 second hand, it seems a little steep for a cradle that will only give me the ability to hold and charge my iphone.

In your opinion would I be better to go for an interface upgrade like this:

or save up for an entirely new double DIN system? Or has anyone any alternative suggestions?

Any help would be appreciated! Im a bit of a novice when it comes to this sort of thing and have only fitted an aftermarket stereo to a car once before...

Save up and buy a MK2 RNSE and Audi Music Interface .. two of the best decisions I ever made.

that looks like a pretty sweet setup, would certainly solve all my problems. Is it a relatively straight forward install? i.e. a matter of removal and plugging in? Its one of the nicest ones i have seen so far as its fits the console perfectly. How much do you think I could pick one up for? Second hand would probably be my best option, it looks quite expensive!
