    Hi folks,

I've got an EGR fault on my B6 2006 2.0 TDI. It's blown the fuse so I'm guessing the EGR is fouled enough to blow the motor or overload it at least.

I've got a replacement from a breakers (which I've given a good clean up). I'm struggling to remove the current one. One of the allen bolts is blocked by the flange of the EGR pipe. If I undo the EGR pipe I can't pull it back far enough to get access to the bolt. Do I have to dig around at the back of the engine and disconnect the EGR pipe at the other end or am I going about this all wrong? I didn't think the EGR would be such a pain to get off. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The EGR valve does not blow a fuse, early 2006 EGR valves are vacuum operated and later ones electric and from your picture it looks like the later electric type but it is the V157 manifold flap in front of the EGR valve that blows fuse 23.

    This is the V157

Thanks for this Crasher. It's blown my radiator fan fuse and the code is a P3102. I hadn't realised the the anti shudder valve was a separate unit to the EGR. I sourced an EGR from a breakers. Is the V157 easy to remove?
