I don't have a cigarette lighter socket in the boot but am aware other mk6 golfs sometimes do.

Does anyone know where I will find the wire as I wish to put my bypass tow bar relay on this without running a whole new line as after fitting dual controls in the front of the car I know how much of a pain the trim is to remove (good build quality so much so even I cannot pull it apart)!

    Any help would be great.

On my car the cigarette lighter socket is on the offside rear, it is in the top corner of the boot space facing down. Don't know if these are prewired.

There is no socket so it must be something that only goes into certain spec/models. Anyone else got any ideas?

You could try removing the Trim Panel and see if the wiring is there it would be one Single cable

Have wiring diagrams been released for this vehicle at all? I may try just popping off a bit of trim to see what I can find.

I'm doing same but swapped mk5 trim into mk6 fits perfect, behind it as wiring loom so hoping to find live rear light wire, as leds connected to socket so want to come on at night only. Will test wires tmro as ordered a light pen to locate wires, also need to wire reverse sensors up but they won't go direct to reverse light, like on mk5, so wiring behind left rear piller but told be careful going direct. Thinking direct to reverse sensor.
