Ticking/clicking noise coming from area around CD player/climate control

Hi,

I have a 55 plate Audi A3 Sportsback 1.6, yesterday when I was driving a weird noise starting occurring in the area around the CD player/climate control, at first I thought there was something wrong with the Audi Concert or the CD I was playing that was causing an issue, it was like a ticking/clicking noise that occurred for like 3 clicks in a row, I don't really know how to explain it any better, I tried turning the CD player off and ejecting the CD to see if that made any difference but it didn't.

Then when I was driving I noticed there was like 1 click every minute or so, and then at random maybe every 4-5 minutes the 3 clicks in a row are repeated, then today I started to notice when I opened the car door or turned the key before starting the car that it started to click at those moments as well.

Sorry if I've left any information out, I'm new to this but the noise is really starting to irritate me, I only got the car 3 weeks ago and it has been perfectly fine up until this noise started to occur.

I'll try to record a video of it tomorrow as it also happens when the car is stationary.

Is your aircon on auto by any chance?

Could just be the distribution flaps opening and closing? Try and get a video and the car scanned for faults.

Nope it wasn't on auto.

I'm not really a expert when it comes to cars and stuff so I'm not sure what distribution flaps are, and when you say getting the car scanned for faults, do I just take it to any garage or or do I have to take it to Audi?

Do you have a CD in the unit? If so then remove it and see if the issue persists

Yes I did try, mentioned it in my opening post.

Yes I did try, mentioned it in my opening post.

I had an a2 that did this = pull the CD player and disconnect/remove the unit and see if the issue goes
