That's in pretty bad shape and I've seen a few in various states. Imho it's not worth trying to refurbish and I'd bolt it back together and use it as the exchange part for a replacement as the manufacturer TRW will probably be able to refurbish having the necessary equipment.

I have already order 1, should be with me on Monday.

The one I bought I paid £152 and I even got a free gift and it is TRW. I did not have to send mine to them.

If you need VAG car parts. they are a good place to start. They are called mister auto and they also have an app for android.

Use them all the time. Good prices for OE drop links and suspension parts. Got my Valeo 180A alternator from them (exchange) for £121 all in once they'd received my old unit and refunded the surcharge. Most other places wanted £300 to £500 for one!! If exchange parts are bought from them make sure the old parts go back quickly as they have a time limited refund policy and the amount you get back drops the longer you take to send the old part back.

Also try Auto-Doc as they have a load of parts at good prices.

Hello everyone
Just some more update on whats happening. Final able to get the bleeder valve off. I had to use the breaker bar.

Had another small issue £20 worth. The metal brake line on the caliper twisted and was stripping while disconnecting it from the upper line. Will pick up the new line tomorrow from TPS.

On a lighter note refurb caliper arrived today. What work on the car is still delayed until new line arrives.

Hello everyone
The little red lady is back and she is doing well. Just finished fitting the caliper and bleeding the brakes.

Had a small test drive and she stopped. Did the VCD'S scan and there was no fault codes on the brake systems. 😂

My next task is to do a complete brake fluid change. I will do that when is a bit warmer.

Just want to say thanks for all the help guys and girls. It would not be possible without your help.
