    Any idea if it has got to be fitted in the vehicle in order to remove component protection or can i just post unit ?

    Is there anyone on this forum who can help with removal ?

    Needs to be in the car or else the cp won't kick in, why what are you fitting now lol

    Theres a forum sponsor in London who can do remove it iirc.

    I'm looking into getting Sat nav installed. Found cheapish unit in Germany and it seems that all required is GPS aerial.

    Yes you can buy the DVD but it will only install about half way then the car needs connected to Audi servers to activate and verify the installation.

    At this point your cheap drive starts to gain cost getting the additional bits.

    Think its at least an hours labour from reading bits on here.

    Drive + cp + maps + activation = probably more than a good mid-range garmin.

    I can remove component security. Tbh halfords have some great deals on tomtom,'s at the moment and they beat all audi satnav's hands down.
