I just bought my first Audi (used) and I'm looking for a good independent to take it to for servicing / general maintenance etc. I've got myself a 2006 A3 Sportback 2.0 T FSI Quattro Sport, with only 21k on the clock! As a minimum, it will probably need new pads (they seem to be originals) and as far as I know the cambelt wasn't yet changed (I know it's low mileage, but perhaps a good idea considering the age - what do you reckon? - doesn't seem worth the risk of it failing).

The other thing is, I only have 1 key. As far as I understand the only way to get another is main dealer? (about £225 inc. VAT and programming) From what I heard, if I lost or damaged my 1 key it'd be a whole new ignition system (or something?) at £LOL? (so again, seems worth the preventative investment). I didn't get the V5 through yet - presumably need it to be able to get the new key done?

I came across Lodge Service Station (they're very local to me) and wondered if anyone here had anything good (or bad) to say about them? Any other recommendations in the locality also very welcome!

    Welcome to VWAF

Re the cambelt, I usually stick to 60k/4 years whichever comes first, been doing it years and hasn't let me down so if I were you, I'd be getting the cambelt and waterpump done too. With your key, personally the only people I'd trust with immo and key info about the two of my cars would be Audi, okay there are automotive locksmiths out there who could do it but again its trust issues which put me off to be honest.

About servicing, why not have a look at our Sponsor list who could maybe do you a better deal than some? Site Sponsors - Directory Of Site Sponsors ... You can find them on our Map and sponsors are shown by a purple droppin - VWAF User Location Map - VCDS - Google Maps

Good point. Main dealer for that it is... Any idea if I need to be able to present them with the full V5 for that?

Waterpump? Any rough costs for what I could expect to pay for cambelt and waterpump (inc. parts and labour)?

Any criteria for guys to end up on that list, or is it just a list of people who dropped some cash? I'm really hoping more for experience based recommendations over paid adverts (no shortage of the latter - they're very easy to come by).
