I am not a detailer but I did find out a way to fix a particular problem: small paint spots that had managed to find their way on to car paintwork.

I was lucky - the paint in question was water based, so used the following technique:

Dampen the affected area to "loosen" the paint. I used a couple of clean J clothes, held on with micro magnets, and dampened with a bucket of water. Leave for at least a couple of hours.

Then take the cloths off and use a clay bar (3M/Meguiars etc.) with a lot of elbow grease. Amazingly the spots (which had proved immovable for 2+ years) slowly lifted away.

Finally polish once done.

A cheap trick to remove any unsightly paint.
