I have posted on here before about my low battery warning with not much joy. Recently, however, my passenger door has stopped working from the outside but works from the inside. Took the car for a decent trip (60 miles) and the door started working. After a day or so it stopped working.

I have had a health test done by a local tyre shed on my battery and it came back healthy. The local Audi dealer has also said my battery is healthy but that they think it is a faulty passenger door actuator that is pulling power from the battery and creating the door malfunction. Price for the part is only £109 but £300 all in fully fitted.

Just looking to see if anyone else has had this problem and what the resolution has been? This low battery warning has been going on for over 1 year now off and on but the passenger door fault has been recent. I know it is not a lot of money but I don't want to be on the receiving end of an electrical experiment whereby they keep replacing parts until the fault is fixed and the bills run out of hand.

    Regards

    Chris

could it be your alternator? maybe its not charging the battery, sufficenlty, or at all. you noticed any other weird electrical issues?

    Thanks for replying.

No other electrical problems identified. I assume that the alternator would throw up an error on the diagnostic equipment and that this would be one of the first things they would check. However, we all know what "assume" stands for! I'll double check with the technician next week.

Would a fault scan not point you in the right direction?

Nothing I think has come up on any Audi scan.
