Hi folks, I知 looking for an A4 B8 (currently have an A6 but need an estate) I went to view a 2012 140 bhp 2.0 tdi with 90k miles on it.

I知 pretty well informed with Vag mechanics and all looked well, very clean for age and mileage only thing I could see was a it looks like it had a valeo egr cooler put in recently.

Anyway to it for a drive and it was very tight suspension and steering wise. However the car felt almost lethargic in 1st is that just how they drive? Also it had a very notchy gearchange which didn稚 feel right, the clutch felt ok though, the gearchange would need attention but any ideas what it would be?

    Any comments much appreciated!

When I came from my A4 B7 BRE 2.0(140) TDI to the A6 C6 Avant 2.0 (170) CR TDI engine, the A6 felt sluggish compared to the 140!
Two different engines in terms of how the power comes in. The A4 could push you into the seat on a rapid start. I too thought it felt sluggish but that is the difference in the two engines.
