I have a 2001 A6 2.7t Tip which up to now has been wonderful. Had a strange thing happen yesterday, I was driving at about 30 mph in drive and touched the brakes to let someone through the other way and the car shuddered rather like you'd get if braking without disengaging the clutch on a manual box.
This lasted about 3 seconds and then stopped. It was almost as if the box did not change down, drove on and have had no problems since. Checked the ATF level which was OK, have driven it a further 20 or 30 miles absolutely fine.
Anybody else had anything like this or do you guys have any ideas about this?
    Thanks

    slickone uk,
Don't worry it's not the box at all it's a faulty ABS sensor, tells brakes that a wheel has locked which modulates the pedal
