intermitant high pitched grinding noise when i turn left

In my 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro sport, recently when turning fairly sharply left at fairly high speeds, or whilst accelerating I hear a high pitched grinding noise a bit like a moan, its not a squeak though but its not a crunchy type grinding noise, its hard to describe. It doesnt happen on right turns.

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas what it might be? CV joint ? suspention component ?

ide like a rough idea before I gfet it checked out. it doesnt affec the handling of the car at all so im not in a ahuge rush to get it sorted.

Just wondering if you ever got this sorted? I'm having a fairly similar problem with my mk4 Golf. I just had new discs and pads fitted but it hasn't sorted it.

if it comes on when turning left,and is not on when turning right, it's the front offside wheel bearing.the weight of car gets transfered to the offside when turning left, and comes off when turning right.
jack the front end up, and check for play on wheel bearings.
