Crikey Col. Sounds like you're on the mend already. Do get well soon. As for the 4 mile dog walk, just check with a doctor first

    Cheers Gents.

Looking at modding the pushbike as i'll be doing some distance work by the looks of it.

Looking at a 1kw booster motor kit which can give you 45mph he he he...

The law, the stupid law says you can only have 250w and up to 15mph but these kits have a restrictor to comply with the law with a switch for 'private' roads giving you full beans.

Nearest train station from work is 10 miles away.

Oh, did I mention the taking it easy at home recovering from surgery bit is as boring as can be.

    Sam,

    Nope, out of the blue........

Except I have some heart history where I was lucky to survive 'chicken pox' back in 2005 having caught off the kids. It went for my heart, suffered 5 SCA's (sudden cardiac arrests) back then in one day until I was stabilised. Very lucky to survive that day. Three weeks in hospital back then and an 'all clear' ...... except it wasn't FWD eight years, boom !

The upside is being able to have a beer whenever and not worrying !

I hate people who post on a thread to tell someone they've sent them a PM but....

You are all making cry...... NOT

But I really do appreciate the concern and best wishes.

I'm settling down with this thing a bit now.

Went on a bike ride yesterday and hit a big hill. I monstered up trying to see if I could make it go 'off'. It didn't, I feel pretty safe that I can do whatever and this thing will be there for backup only. That hill climb would certainly have had my heart rate up to the max.

They say your max heart rate is 220 less your age, so mine should be 178-180 'ish. The shocking threshold on the device is programmed at 220 bpm.

Abandoned the electric bike idea but am now well into 70's and 80's retro road racing bikes.... just like I used to have back in the day.

Others = my bikes = my new cars for the time being
