I'm sure I read somewhere that Audi themselves (that being big boss German HQ) state that radio codes will be given FREE OF CHARGE provided you turn up at a dealership with the car and have some sort of proof of ownership.
Could be wrong, but I'm sure it's been posted!
Just wait until you get the gearbox fixed (unless you have a particular desire to sit in your broken down car listening to the radio?) and turn up at your dealer and put it to them.
...Insist on booking in! it'll be a 10 minute job! If they can't do it, they will have to contact Audi HQ, in which case they aren't even doing any leg work!
