Dash display is normal.took vac pipes off to egr and it didn't try and stall . Maybe replace gasket under egr or blank it off . Problem started after changing egr

Just an update . Since disconnecting vac pipe to egr i get better fuel per mile so am thinking of blanking it. Is it essential to car in any way

well i put everything back to normal vac pipe on and just got heavy handed with the bolts on the egr pipe nearest radiator and it seems to be running better , but blanking plates in car ready for next time ,maybe an air leak ..... no idea but it don't sound like a golf as in adverts

#2 Egr held on by 3 bolts and a #5pipe connected to it underneath held on by 2 bolts which goes towards front of car and connected to egr cooler(#3) by 2 bolts . My egr only connects to my manifold by 3 bolts .so no blanking of manifold unless it towards rad on the egr cooler pipe connection where #5 connects to #3 the cooler with a 22mm gasket . does this help explain it from my point of view , i'm not too good at explaining things

egr cooler ??? can you post up some photos of your engine, cos it sounds like a special in the automatic model .. is it an awx engine ?? I can see places where a blanking plate will go without issue 4# and 9#

you can replace any of those gaskets with a blanking plate m8. you may need longer bolts that's all ??
