Looking at getting a pair of these for the back of my B7 a4 avant Quattro and usually get my tyres from Camskill.

    Goodyear Tyres / Car / Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 - 235/40 R18 95Y XL (R1) FP TL Fuel Eff.: E Wet Grip: A NoiseClass: 2 Noise: 70dB &pound131.95 Car Tyres - MPV Tyres - People Carrier Tyres - 18" R18" - 235/40/18, 235/40R18

Anyone else use them or know anywhere cheaper to get them?

I was looking on Camskill today too & after looking at all the ratings, I shortlisted Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance (Fuel Efficiency: B, Wet Grip: A, Noise Class: 1 - 67decibels) & Dunlop Sportmaxx RT SP (Fuel Efficiency: B, Wet Grip: A, Noise Class 1 - 67 decibels). Normally if buying new tyres I'd have stuck to Michelin or Conti, but these two seem to have great ratings as you can see.

Edit: it appears the Goodyears aren't as good on your tyre size as they are for my 17" tyres, but the Dunlops are looking like the best in your tyre size - £15 a tyre cheaper than the Goodyears you linked & far better fuel efficiency.

Don't do it! I had Goodyear Eagles on my A6 and they lasted 12k before needing changed. The michelins however lasted. 33k with the rears still showing 2mm.

I'll check out the Dunlops as they look decent! Cheers

My only dabble with Dunlops has been the winter versions, which I liked, but is obviously a completely different kettle of fish. Bound to be some real world user reviews somewhere on the web that can be googled. Quite a few on here rate the Barum Bravaris, which aren't rated as highly on Camskill, but the folk on here who use them seem to really like them. Worth a search.

I have to agree with A6 Chris,

He warned me when I first got my Goodyears although me mine are 19" 255/35 Y so far they have lasted 13k and theirs very little left on them trying to get them through the summer so I can get new tyres for the winter months. Have to say though besides the mileage they are excellent tyres in wet and dry. Thinking of going for michelin pilot super sport for my next ones, they're more money but i'm going with Chris on the fact they should last much longer

Personally I wouldn't take the new rating system on the tyres as gospel, maybe more of a loose guide.
    LED's FTW!!

Local tyre shop near me have a deal on the Goodyears so 2 tyres fitted and balanced comes to £265 which is pretty reasonable.

Might live to regret it but as I only do 6k miles a year they should last a few years. Cheers for all the advice guys!!

    (Chris, please dont hate me!)

Personal preference really, I didn't find them good and poor wear so I obviously won't recommend them

The price of the Michelins is steep I know but I got more than double the mileage out of the Michelins than I did the Goodyears using the same driving style. As I said, the rears still have 2mm left, the fronts needing replacing @2mm due to bad alignment on the car so they still would've been going yet.

Have Uniroyals on the front and once the rears need changed I'll be selling the Uniroyals and getting Michelins again for sure.

I also have Michelins on the A3 (225/45/17) and again I'm very pleased with the way they're wearing (or I should say, NOT wearing) over the past 10k all motorway - just over 1mm wear.
