I have found a 2006 Audi A6 2.0 TDI TDV SE 5dr Diesel Avant Estate for £6500 with 93k miles on the clock, one owner, full history, cambelt & water pump to be changed before sale.

Any opinion on whether this is a good buy?

Seems okay, what spec does it have?

Just be aware this engine may be one of the bad ones with iffy oil pump balance shafts but if you're buying from a dealer you'll have warranty by law should anything go wrong.

Saying that, there are people on here with 2006/7 BRE engined cars and haven't had any problems.

dealer instincts says 6ish would be a good price at retail. agree with chris about the iffy oil pump etc, try and get a decent warranty provider if its coming from a dealer

Bearing in mind I have no knowledge of engines or mechanical things, how would I know if it was an iffy one and what is the legal warranty length of time??

Engine power	140 bhp - is that low for this size car??
Engine torque	236 lbs/ft

A PM to Crasher or an Audi dealer with the chassis number or reg number would suffice.

140bhp seems okay going by the owners on here, 1st gear can have a bit of a dead spot though. Drive it and see how it feels.

legal warranty is 3 months unlimited mileage, some crafty dealers will try to limit to 3 months or 1000 miles and be an in house warranty. any reputable dealer will use a nationwide warranty like autotrust etc
