Door Control Module Help

Hiya, Yes im a NOOB, so sorry if this is a silly question, but, if you have a faulty Door Control Module, Would that effect the remote central locking? been trying to code my key as its never worked since owning my car (mk4 Golf GTTDi) so am wondering if this being faulty would cause this.

Usual causes are broken wiring in the door jamb

Check all fuses just to be sure.

If you hold the key in the external door lock do the doors all lock and do the windows rise/fall?

yeah windows go down and up with key no problem, And yes code comes straight back, i thought i was doing something wrong when coding the key as it just doesnt code.

Have you had the door card off to visually inspect the unit? Does it have power and ground?

If you can get to the wiring in the door jamb (inside the black concertina-type cover - remove the car side of the cover, it's easier to get that back on!) you should be able to identify any breaks.

Can you operate all the other windows from the driver side controls?
