Odd Touran Stereo Surround?

I posted this in the Touran forum, but it seems a little quiet in there! (Delete the other one if needs be mods?)

Hi folks, new to the forum, new to VAG.


This is the centre panel in my '53 reg touran. None of the fascia plates that I've come across will suffice for replacing the head unit. Looks like it needs to be the whole piece.


What options do I have? I'm looking to replace it with a double din HU, but I'm not sure how to go about it with the split across the stereo.




Would I need to / be able to get a hold of the whole piece (up around the heater dials) without the split over the stereo? Does it have a part number? Would a none split piece from another year touran fit it if I can find it in a breakers?

No ideas on this? I've not managed to find a solution.

look on fleabay for double din and you will have a whole host of surrounds for sake there... about twenty squids if I recall correctly...

From what I can see they're just a trim to re size the stereo hole, not the full trim. So wouldn't address the spilt across the middle of the stereo.

I think I've sourced one from a scrappy from a different model. Hopefully the fixings are in the same place.
