My 2003 Passat 1.9 TDi alarm goes off some time after being locked for no apparent reason. The alarm only activates the once. I've tried switching off the alarm (pressing remote locking button twice or twice locking car with key) but it still happens. Any ideas?

Check for water under passenger side front carpet. If wet dry out the central convenience unit and it's wiring and clear the plenum drains (under the battery and another roughly under the servo)
