    Hi Guys,

I have read that the A4's are notorious for the regulator failure. However I wanted to make sure it is this that's causing my particular issue.

My baby has done 90k, 1.8t Q. Issue is that the from the drivers side, I am able to roll the drivers side up/down no problem. When it comes to passenger, it goes down fine however now doesn't roll up. Before I had to press the button a few times for it to eventually work. However if i control the window from the passengers side it works completely fine from there.

Still the drivers side regulator you think ?

    Thanks

The drivers side window regulator has nothing to do with the passenger side window.

If the window rolls up and down from the passenger door controls the regulator is operational.

Your issue lies either with the wiring or the driver door window control panel.

That's what I was thinking too Sam, thanks for that.

Any way you think I could maybe find out whats causing this issue ? Or is it simply trial & error with replacing the regulator parts ?

If the regulator (and/or cable) was broken, the window wouldn't go up or down at all - forget the regulator

Most common cause of issues are broken wires in the door jamb.

Pop the driver side controls off and have a look at the backside - if you've got some contact cleaner, squirt a bit in there too - if nothing changes, it's time to investigate the wiring.

If you have access to VCDS a scan may show up some errors too.

I would say the wiring in the door jam is broken, I had the same issue but mine didn't affect the Window, mine was other issues but exposing the wires in the door shut showed obvious broken wires, a bit of insulator tape and it has been fine since.
