New member in south lincs

Hi, I have just bought a 1999 Audi A6/S6 replica(4.2 quattro saloon) for my wife, well what can I say but what a car, we love it, apart from the powerflow performance exhaust, now don't get me wrong I like a nice V8 growl but this is a little too loud for her indoors, I think it sounds lovely but its not me who's driving it so I have been given the task of making it a little quieter,at the moment it has straight through pipes from the centre X pipe back (told you it was loud)!!
Have any of you lovely people got any ideas? We really love this car and want to keep it for a long time as it has all the toys and in great condition and comes with a removable towbar for towing the tin tent ( I think it should manage it)!!!!!
Oh I should say its a 2" stainless system. I was thinking of buying a couple of universal stainless silencers and fitting these in where the original rear silencers should be, unless anyone knows anybody who would like a wee swap for a quieter system!
