i splashed out and bought the snap on torque wrench that does angles. lord knows how it knows how far you have turned it, but it does, and makes angle bolts so much easier. you can even do angles in stages. best 400 notes ever. oh, you switch it on and it just works, soooo easy.

Almost exclusively Snap Off for general hand tools but I use Facom ratchets as I prefer their fine tooth design. Otherwise it's a mixture of genuine VAG service tools plus AST, Laser, Saur Werkzug, Klann, Sikes Pickavant and others - whoever makes what I want. I like English hammers, big ones, copper or iron, heavy, for hitting things with ........

Yep, 3lb Thor is what I have. Snap Off is worth it for sockets, spanners, screw drivers etc, they are just sublime, perfect chrome, never break, well sort of. We have not had a rep for a while but the new one came in a few weeks back and replaced everything I had buggered up and last week I took him my Linesman pliers to ask about new ones as mine were worn out and he just swapped them, no hesitation, I must have had those 20+ years, best pliers money can buy.

I have a mix of Snap On, Facom, MAC, Britool and many other bits as and when required over the years
My 3/8 drive Snap On ratchet was slipping a bit recently saw the local rep - sorry mate we don't make that model any-more, its about 35 year+ old. Innocently I asked what do I do?
You may have guessed the answer 'Buy a new one' so beware folks lifetime guarantee, actually means until we stop making it / supplying spares!!

rubbish, they will be able to supply a new repair kit for it. i was a snap on dealer for a very short time . one customer had a ratchet from ww2. it was properly worn out though, just showed it to me because he was proud of it. i spoke to head office, they sorted a rebuild kit and it made his day when it was fixed up as good as new. your dealer just wants to sell you a new one, don't take it, tell him to get a kit or speak to his manager.

I'm a modest mechanic and buy tools as I need them.Got a few snap on bits and other named brands but I find Halfords professional is best suited to my needs and pocket. Not let me down yet.The collection has grown over 20 odd years and is housed in a nice red roller cabinet. As an asides I use birthdays and Christmas to complement the man cave.Expecting a new trolly jack in a few days
