hi Jamie, is sounds like either a major leak at the front hence the compressor cannot pick it up, that and also possible the compressor may be knackered trying. How long has it been like this?
jack the front up and inspect both airbags for small cracks/leaks, It may be worth a try if you lift the car a tiny bit so it is still lower than level 1 at the front then see if it will pick itself up,
If not your compressor may also be knackered, I can offer a repair kit for the compressor here: bagpipingandy | eBay
but it will not fix the sinking front you need to look at this 1st, no quick fix for this one I’m afraid

    Regards

    Andy

Hi.. Its been a fault for about 4 Months as I had to keep switching the engine off as the warning light stayed on, it went up fine on the second go.

    Cheers,

    Jamie

yep leak and now the compressor will be tired, the leak needs fixed, it will be a leak at the lower section of the airbag where it folds under, the bags perish and crack, best to look for a leak 1st, which can be hard to do without a good compressor and air supply unless it is an obvious leak (tear). or you could fix the compressor and then look for the leak, regards, Andy

Hi Andy, Have carried out your tests (twice).
level 4 overnight did not sink, dropped it down to level 1 then tried to bring it back up to level - took 5 mins to get there. Parked overnight at level 1, did not drop but took 4-5 mins to get it up to level 2. Tried the jack level overnight then measured the distances from the tyre to wheel arch they were all the same, pumped it back up to Level 2 which took 4-5 mins to get there. Does this mean that the pump is at fault?
Look forward to hearing from you.
    Regards
    Neil

    Hi Neil,
no sinking at level 1 is good news and no leaks then but a tired compressor is what you have, my kit should make it good as new , if it is just slow to lift and never sinks lower than level 1 this is just the compressor weak, I assume you needed to turn ignition off and on again a few times to clear the error light and get it to raise as you are quoting very slow lift times

    kits here: bagpipingandy | eBay
any questions just ask, best regards
    Andy

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm going to nominate you for the Nobel Prize for Compressor Resurrection.

Or at the very least a knighthood for services to hapless allroad owners.

Hell's teeth - if Baldrick can get one, you ought to be a shoe-in.
