b8 tow bar - fan issue - please help

ok I have an o8 3.0 tdi Quattro b8 how do I tell if fan needs updating ???

Check with the dealer.

Around 2008 and 2009 they were adding and removing tow bar preparation. I called them when mine was built (early MY2010 car) and it does have it but it seems to depend on exactly when you car was built.

Towbar prep came in as standard for cars built after July 2009, so unlikely yours will have it.

Its not just fan upgrade, but also bigger oil cooler, higher capacity alternator and upgraded rear wiring loom to cope with the load of caravan charging.

Depending on what you are towing (trailer or heavy caravan) then you might get away without doing anything.

I've also got a 3.0 Quattro B8 avant 2008 model. It needed all the extras as Polisher detailed. It cost just over £1600 at Stafford Audi. I was finding some places wanted upto £2500!!!

it does tow my 6 berth caravan like a dream, so well worth it for the long term.
