My car doesn't appear to have this feature. Does it only apply in certain cases, or does it need to be enabled?

Saved me £££ when waiting for kids last winter.
Also seems to blow out residual cool air as well - we use it for our dog.

Another Audi anomaly - it works with my two keys, but I don't have memory seats....

I've had my A6 for just over 2 years now and love it when I discover something new. One of my favorites which I use all the time is the auto dropping passenger side wing-mirror. Select that mirror from the control on the drivers door, then when you put the car into reverse, the passenger side mirror dips down to show the curb. It returns to its normal position when you take it out of reverse. Ideal for reverse parking. The only downside, as I always leave that side mirror selected on the control-knob, I have to remember to recenter the control know when demisting the mirrors in the winter.

Mine memorises different heater settings on each set of keys and I don't have memory seats either, so another bit of learning for me!

You dont need memory for this. All cars have it as it runs off which key is used to unlock and turn the ignition on.

    I made this a while back -

I was led to believe this only works on certain cars (is it the face-lift model of the C6 A6)?
It's a software 'hack'(?) that enables/disables it via VCDS... but apparently not available on my car

The other tricks are great though, i'm still learning a few.

Has everyone found the exterior lighting option for returning and leaving home? That's a nice touch.

I've seen this option on the mirror control knob, but never figured out how to enable/disable/use it correctly... i don't want it constantly trying to demist it do i? What's the process???
I tell you, I've never needed to work so hard with a car before... I even had to Google how to turn off the air-con!

You can enable it on prefacelift if you have a comination of folding/dimming mirrors, theres a big thread in this section if you search for mirror tilt.

Mirror defrost will only work if the frost icon is on the dash (ie below 5 degrees outside iirc) so even though the switch may be in the central position, it wont be heating the mirrors until the outside temp is cold enough.
