Hi all, thought I'd share my experience at Kwik Fit regarding the Re-Gas and re-oil of the Air con.
Well before I went to Kwik Fit I changed over my pollen filters and also used the 'Comma Air Con Cleaner'
What a pita to change over the cabin filters but glad I did.. As Jim said he experienced a higher amount of air after the change! He wasn't wrong
The old filters were really disgusting.. I also must note I didn't buy OEM one's.. If I'm being honest the quality was much superior in my old 'OEM' filters..
Anyways I took some pics and also weighed them up!
    New ones..

    Weighed

    Old ones weighed (manky)

It's a bit **** me weighing them I know... But it would be interesting to see how much an 'OEM' one weighs compared to the re-manufactured ones!

Now for the trip down to Kwik Fit..

    Readings before re-gas etc..
    Recovered - 00.325kg
    Recovered oil - 0004ml

    After
    Gas quantity 675gr
    Oil quantity 275ml
    Condenser 30ml

I'm a bit worried at the 675gr as Jim mentioned that it should be 530+ 20 and I checked under my bonnet and Jim is correct... I hope this isn't going to cause any issues!? I'll call them tomo to double check...
All in all though a much 'cooler' place to be..
I'd also like to thank Jim for his help and advice! Cheers mate

I had a rotary but was a little too scared to use it.. So sold it!

Thanks Aly, great write up mate, nicely done.

Please do double check about the 550 + or - 20 either way was the correct measurement I believe..............something doesn't add up there although I'm not sure how important it is tbh.

The A/C cleaner by Comma really rocks, love the smell.

Glad that you got it done for not many pennies and all is well......

Cheers Jim! I'm a bit concerned also... It's the same measurements under my bonnet as yours.. I'll definitely be calling them tomorrow!

Aly re paint, I did half the car at the weekend inc clay bar, Farecla scratch remover, Collinite 845 and the Autogym EGP over the top. Every single swirl gone and up until doing thought I had brilliant black (flat) when it appears I have a metallic/pearl finish with little flecks of silver in it

PS: If the old filters were OEM what was the manufacturing date (stamped on the side) as it will give an indication of their age.

Have got a few goodies to try including a clay bar and some fine 3m pads ect.. Looking forward to it!
I haven't looked at the dates as yet.. I'll have a look tomorrow! (in the outside bin)

Wasn't overly thrilled with their service tbh.. They never once explained what they were doing I had to keep asking!

Appreciate was a £49 service that they do often, so they'll assume you know what you've booked for and conduct with minimal fuss.

I'd not hold that against them.
