did crasher say you did it ? no, he didn't, you just presumed he presumed you did, which wouldn't be the case. many establishments do this because they know no better and its the only way they know how to fix something, because they lack the knowledge of how to test sensors and other bits.

Then you should have explained yourself better, no one has the power of mind reading...I go into VAG dealerships all over the UK (High Wycombe on Saturday) and they are staffed by courteous and intelligent people who know what they are doing, perhaps you should look closer to home for the reasons of failure...

Yes, no one has the "power of mind reading" as you so aptly put it, so you shouldn't have assumed that I went around willy nilly changing parts on a car myself. I never said I was an expert or had any knowledge of it. I sought advice from professionals and followed it; yet these are the "courteous and intelligent" people you speak of. Yet you are also saying it was of "amateur" nature? You're contradicting yourself, and appearing to be a bit of a tool.

I came onto this thread and forum to help someone out not to be bashed by some overzealous forum troll that thinks he has expert knowledge on diagnosis because he swans around the country visiting dealerships. :facepalm:
