    Hi,

i know I read somewhere about being able to activate thishrough some highly complicated wizardry, can anyone point me in the direction of how I go about getting it done? I'm in Northampton and have an A6 2.0 2010 plate.

    Many thanks
    Kevin

Find someone with VCDS - go into Module 52 (Passenger Door), Coding, Long Coding Helper and mirror tilt checkbox.

Save and turn ignition off, select left hand mirror and select reverse.

All facelift cars (yours!) can have it enabled whereas only certain prefacelift cars have the functionality.

It didn't work on my 09 facelift, there is no list in long coding helper.

Are you able to post screen shot of what you have?

I've been recently using this to capture screen videos ... Link:- FastStone Screen Capture - The Best Screen Capture Software

    C6 Mirror Tilt on Reverse

    I found this :-

Enabling reverse mirror tilt on cars without memory seats: Go to module 52 Door Elect, Pass., Long Coding, Byte 4. If the byte has value 40 (cars without electrically folding mirrors), change it to 4C. If the byte has value 50 (cars with folding or folding/dimming mirrors), change it to 5C. Afterwards when reversing and the mirror knob is in passenger position the passenger side mirror will tilt while on reverse to better show the curb. Without memory seats it is currently not known if the tilt can be adjusted, it seems to default to a standard amount according to reports (see links below, thanks to EuroDan and Unisurfer). It was reported by -V- (here in Finnish: UltimateVW.COM) that 4C won't work in some cars, but value 44 instead does. This probably has to do with equipment levels. Ross-Tech has updated their VCDS/VAG-COM software data to include relevant bits with descriptions, so you can more easily try different combinations.

    HERE :- Interesting VAG-COM codes for Audi A5/A4 B8/Q5, many for A6/A8/Q7 as well (by LoCal) - Audi A6 Q7 A8 A4 A5 Retrofit Jälkiasennus Nachrüsten Retro-fit

Mine is a 2005 A6 (pre facelift) so no long coding, it had folding/dimming mirrors from factory, but a memory mirror housing on passenger side (I believe from factory as date codes on both housings/motors is same) ...

    • +0000128 = Outside Mirror Adjustment (Memory - PR-6XF/6XL)
Above extract from Link:- Audi A6 (4F) Door Electronics Passenger - Ross-Tech Wiki

I added above to module 52 coding and Mirror tilt on reverse worked ...

    i) it remembers per key mirror setting for tilt on reverse ...

ii) can set tilt on reverse to any position I like ...

iii) does remember mirror position before tilt on reverse and returns to that ...

but a memory mirror housing on passenger side.

So the key is, you have to have a memory mirror fitted no matter if it is pre or facelift.

From info that A6_Chris , MFGF , C4a5er say facelift only need coding...

Above from Link:- Mind if I join you? - Page 2

But from what C4a5er is saying it has not setting/memory feature like I'm getting ....

Yes you can code the door module to dip the mirror but it's not much use because you can't set the actual amount of dip and there's no left/right movement.
Above from Link:- A6 (C6) 2010 - Few VAGCOM questions?

Before watching this video note these points ...

    i) two keys are used, to each I saved a different tilt preset , no limit on up/down and/or left/right

ii) besides the keys having different keyring to denote key 1 or 2 note the AC temp per key as well

iii) keys are removed when you are seeing the mirror return to position to highlight automation

For further information on mirror tilt on reverse consult your owners manual ...
