2.5 AKN Timing Figures

Had the timing belt done in winter there.

As my mate never had VCDS, he adjusted and adjusted till the car sounded ok and the following day I took the car out to try, and after some further adjustments the car was back to driving the way it was ( or at least felt like it) I have had a niggling tho to get a hold of another mates VCDS and check it out but until recently trying to get the car to read 80 degrees to get the figures has been nigh on impossible. tonigh however I have mannaged just that and hopefully if I copy n paste them someone will be able to disect and say wether they are good bad or indifferent.

If you have trouble to get the engine's temperature to 80 Celsius that means the thermostat is goosed and will need replacing- unfortunately is a cambelt off job ! If you have fully registered VCDS then you need to select the timing graph and see how the plotted line is...

As Addams say, you need a new t-stat, the good news however is that the timing is ok. Spec is -2 +- 2 degrees ( 0-4 atdc.) yours is around 0, exactly where I would have set it.
