Hi, we've got the above car (2003) but the 90 degree pipe that connects to the SMIC at the bottom of the engine keeps coming off when accelerating. We've bought a brand new pipe (£100) but it still keeps coming off . Any ideas?

    Thanks very much

    Kev

I had the same problem with the top part on mine. When I bought the car the joint was being held together with the original clip and several cable ties. I was told that this wouldn't hold and my cousin was correct. On the third drive to work I lost boost AND the sight of the car behind me...
I removed the top pipe and drilled three holes through the outer pipe and then stuffed a rag down into the fixed pipe to block it and prevent any swarf getting into the pipe. I then replaced the pipe and screwed three self drilling screws through the drilled holes.
Then I removed the screws, and the outer pie and carefully removed the rag and any swarf then replaced the pipe and screwed in three self tappers.
Six months later I have had problems, but a blown off boost pipe has not been one of them.
