Hi, we've had this 2008 model nearly a year but got problems. Mitsubishi sites are useless! So I'm going to start searching on here for solutions!! I believe its same unit fitted to passat with 6 speed box.

    Welcome to VWAF.

Which Audi engine does it have? Would you have an engine code?

Hi, its almost impossible to get any info on Mitsubishi sites. I have come up with 2.0tdi PD 140ps. Looking around the engine bay all the electronic parts all seem to be vag parts also. They only used the engine for a couple of years, I think for Japanese tax costs. They now use the generic 'french' 2.2 as the vag unit was regarded as troublesome! Wish I'd done more homework before buying!

if you look on the plastic cam cover you may find 3 letters on a sicker. if they are there then this will distinguish exactly what engine it is, as there are a few variants of a 2.0 pd lump.
what problems do you have ?
if the vw computer will work on this then that would be a big bonus as otherwise you will only find generic obd codes as mitsi diagnostics are useless without the proper computer.

Hi, I've found code. It's BSY. I can't seem to find any info on this model either! I think the turbo vanes were sticky last year causing overboost. It had a boost sensor just before we got it apparently. Now and again it would over boost when you floored it but you could just switch off to reset. Not done it for months now. One time it blew inlet pipe off manifold and chewed little lugs off. £130 for a hose from Mitsubishi! After 3 wrong parts delivered! Never got right clips! Ended up taking old weak clip into vw dealer who said "oh yeah, we sell dozens of them mate". Latest fault has gone in limp mode again with eml lit. However green flag guy cleared memory but still had no power. Then after switch off and on again eml on again. Codes given are P0236 and P0299 low boost pressure 'pending' whatever he means by pending? When it took 'snapshot' it said engine didn't appear to be running? Ie no revs. There is no smoke or funny noises just gutless

I've took some pics to help identity model, I was looking for n75 to check but all small pipes seem to go into a box I have tried to show on inner wing. It also has vag embossed on it.

Car now sorted! MAP sensor was faulty and massively under reading. Even before starting engine it was reading below atmospheric pressure. New sensor from Andrew pages and bobs your uncle. Feels quicker than before, don't know if that's just psychological or not.

Hi Folks, I have this exact car/engine VW 2.0 tdi 140bhp in my outlander. Got to change the glow plugs and the oil pressure sensor which are both flagging after doing a report test using OBD11 reader. plus cold start is rubbish.... Are the glow plugs under the rocker cover on this unit?? also any suggestions where to look for the oil pressure switch? these engines are alot more compact if thats the right word compared to older models where things were easier to trace.....
