i have just recently replaced my turbo on a 2001 pd130. before it went there was plenty of power and was a dream. with the new one the turbo doesn't seem to kick in till 2500 revs and above, and while in 4th or 5th gear there is no power and struggles to get to 70mph. its like driving a bog standard diesel, sometimes i feel like getting out and pushing !!! i have checked from the site i bought it from and it is compatible to my car.

before i start spending trying to resolve this issue, i thought i would ask others for possible solutions.

    thanks in advance

ok, doesn't seem to exist. is it a genuine turbo, i.e. garratt. thing is, as long as the turbo fits and is a vnt rather than wastegate , then it should work.
is this turbo of spurious chinese origin ?
how much did it cost ?
does it weigh the same as the old one?
if it chinese and cost you 200 quid, then you have an expensive doorstop.
personally i will only usually use turbo technics in northampton. have done for years and never had any problem.

cost 335. its what they manufacture so its not a garret. came with 2 yr warranty. no idea what it weighed had it delivered to garage to be fitted.

it works but just not in the right places when required.

You need a vcds log of boost at wide open throttle from 1000 rpm to 4500 and slow down. That will show what the turbo is doing.

next time it does it , switch off the ignition , just for a second and back on , if boost comes back you have boosting issues either underboost or overboost and its possibly going into limp mode ?? , like martin said you need a scan to get some ideas of whats going on .
