    01592 air quality sensor g238
    37-00 faulty.
just as the better weather is coming i thought i would turn on air con coming home from work and it wont come off econ.
Remove front bumper. G65 high pressure sender is located top right side of condenser. Remove electrical connection, remove G65. Reinstall with NEW o-ring, 5nm torque. Check first it is not a wiring problem.
Looks like you also need an air quality sensor g238 as well!

If you need the full instructions for doing the cambelts (water pump and thermostat as well when you are in there!), pm me your full car, engine, gearbox details and e-mail address and I will send you the pdf files.

I think the G65 location is dependant on which car it is. I haven't removed mine yet but it looks like on my A6 it's mounted on the left hand side of the A/C rad. Check out the link below for the A4 location. It's a good instruction but I think you may get away with just removing the headlight :-

Standing in front of car, G65 is on right side ie. passenger side. Yes it is close to headlght but manual says to remove bumper first. You might get away with it - update this post with the answer please!

NO NEED to remove front bumper at all (if it's the same as mine).

10 minutes of a job-at the most-- easy peasy .

£35 ish for the part (from memory).
Lots of info on it on here --if you look.

it IS to the right of the DRIVERS SIDE headlight (looking towards the car from the front.

    It's the same 53 reg. 1.9TDI

You dont need the part number-- just call main dealers and tell them G65 and they will know.
It is a very common fault .

ps- dont forget to ask for the 'o' ring too.

It REALLY is easy to do .

Ok, so finally got around to changing the G65 but here's a cautionary tale for anyone about to carry out this job. I 've had two wasted return journeys trying to get the correct part and eventually got it direct from my local Audi dealer. In hindsight I could've saved two gallons of fuel by doing this in the first place....doh !!!! GSF and Euro both supplied me with the wrong part but not totally their fault because even Audi told me today that there are at least 4 different versions of the part for my car alone !!! Anyway, as I said in one of my previous posts, I managed to access the pressure switch by just removing the headlight (see pics). On my A6 the pressure switch is on the driver's side of the air con rad whereas I've seen lots of pics of A4's and even some A6's where it's mounted on the passenger side. See the pics I've attached which shows the original pressure switch in-situ and the new part from Audi.
    I hope this helps someone.
    Cheers,
