golf 1.4 16 v t reg shuddering and misfiring whilst driving help please

wondering if any one can help we bought a golf 1.4 16v T reg 2 months ago
since we have had it it has had a full service as it looked it it had not been done for a while
all the filters were blocked and useless.
since we have had it all done we are getting shuddering and misfiring and cutting out while driving
Its been to the garage and put on the machine and no faults have come up
can anyone shed some light as to what it is ? as its bordering on dangerous to drive

try a set of plug leads as they fail

we have replaced all the leads and spark plugs thermostat and all the filters but its still doing it
its a pain in the ****

is it registering any codes?
i have had a couple of egr valves fault and cause a missfire under load
i would also check the map sensor in the side of the inlet manifold as they allways play up and cause different issues usually rough running bad idle

Hmm found out why it was shuddering
the Gearbox is knackered the gearbox crown wheel plate rivets has sheared off and put a hole in the side of the gearbox
Oh well more money to find
New Gearbox and Clutch on the way
least hubby can fix it so that is some good news

What did the garage scan it with? You need VCDS or VAS-PC for these cars. It could be one of several sensors or the throttle body

throttle body has been changed the coil pack themostat sender new rad plugs all new filters
we had a bang under the car the other day and hubby checked and had oil leaking from the gearbox
so he took it apart and hey pesto had a hole in the gearbox housing inside the bellhousing or summat
gearbox and new clutch being fitted tommorrow

wow what a difference 24 hours makes
new gearbox ( second hand ) and a new clutch
the car now drives like a golf
