    Hi
Purchased an A4 Avant 2.0Tdi Multitronic recently, great car love driving it. Just had a message come up that it wants an oil service in a few hundred miles and a service in 10k miles. Fine, so i rang my local Audi service centre for a price, £246 just for an oil change, is that really correct ? or £366 for a service.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

Depending on the year of the car it may fall into the Audi fixed price servicing regime.

Oil and filter change is £149 iirc.

Used to be £99 for an oil change, recently went up to £139 iirc at the dealers

Do yourself a favour and check National Tyres..............just type in the reg number for your car and its there.

They specify the correct longlife oil / filter and do a change for around £42..........Its a loss leader for them to get people in the door to sell them tyres / exhausts etc etc

    Good luck

All oil is the same but the oil itself can last 20k but if you're doing less than 10k per year I would advise switching to the fixed interval.

    Apologies - it's £159 Fixed-price servicing < Servicing with Audi < Owners area < Audi UK

National tyres did mine, £39 for oil and filter change.

That's Castrol Edge 5w40 and genuine filter (I provided it, they changed it although they would have provided one for the price).

Proper sump plug job too, I watched them like a hawk from start to finish!!!

Hmm, have had a look on National Tyres website are quoting £40.40 for Castrol Edge 5W30 Full Synthetic, not sure what I do about needing long life oil ? do they reset the display ? still nervous about using them but great saving !

The oil is correct and the price saving is great.

As per Danny boy, I''ve used them a few times on my Audi and also my wifes Passat ( same oil - longlife ) with no issues, just a great saving..........up to you mate, just a heads up and an alternative for you.

    Good luck

Sorry, I was just giving a cheaper alternative.

Some will stamp your book and some will reset service lights.

Phone ahead first is the best bet.

give your car the care it deserves - i assume it cost ~£10k maybe more so dont skimp on servicing or parts

ok its the same oil but having people who have learnt every model inside and out work on your pride and joy make more sense to me.

ok it costs more but you're paying for experience imo
