Dear Friends, The car is losing power sometimes on motorway and goes to Limp mode. The mechanic told me that you need a new turbo. The car runs fine and in limp mode if I stop car and start again the problem is gone. It does same after some time but not regularly.
Replacement cost is too much and I would welcome any other ideas, like cleaning the unit etc. Someone advised to use the Forte Turbo cleaner??

Can you please guide if Turbo can be cleaned to get rid of this problem and any local in Norfolk area who does this job.

    Thanks

If I was the OP, I'd get a fault code read before doing anything else.

    Otherwise it's pure speculation.
Nothing to see here, move along..

Yes Odd, the turbo works normal before going to limp mode. I gave the car to a local VAG specialist to diagnose the fault and they come up with the statement that turbo is over boosting and charged me £45.

it might even trace back to a £48 solenoid sensor if your lucky , reason i say that is you have boost no boost turn off then back on and you have boost then lose it again . do you know the fault codes you had ?

there is no fault on car computer. The mechanic said it has sticky vanes and thats why it is showing over boost.

fella , try changing the map sensor that sits in the intercooler pipe ontop near the bulk head . that was the problem with mine . I had fault codes stored that pointed me in this direction .I changed every vacuum pipe first - didn't work , I got some spray cleaner for the internals of the turbo - didn't work, I changed the n75 valve - didn't work, also just turn off the ignition and back on whilst you drive and the boost will come back for a while , no need to keep on parking and turning the engine off.... 4 garages said to me sticky vanes and £1000 , how wrong they were..... good luck ...
