Hi everyone. New here. Picking up my first Audi on Tuesday, a 13 plate A4 2.0 TDIe. Thought I'd get on here and hopefully find some helpful hints and tips.

Welcome to the forum! Bet you can't wait to get your motor. Post some pics of it up when you get it.

Admittedly, it's all I've been thinking about for the last few days. Got a Toyota Auris 1.33 at the moment and hated it from the moment I bought it. This is the first time I've been genuinely excited about a car! I'll certainly arrange a mini photo session!

Apologies if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs, but there's a fair few threads on washing techniques to avoid getting swirl marks on that new paintwork. I've never been lucky enough to own a new car, so all my cars have come with swirl marks as standard lol. I'd be like a kid at Christmas if I was waiting for a new car to arrive.

Enjoy having a nose around the A4 B8 section & the social sections anyway mate.

    Welcome to VWAF.

We have a good info base in theB8 A4 section so you won't be short of answers.

As Paul says there are a few threads on washing a car safely. If you press the FORUM button and scroll down to the detailing section you will see Questions and Answers and there were 2 threads covered quite recently.

Thanks, I'll have a look. I I was recommended this site by someone on detailing world. I been on there a few years now. Wash technique is pretty good now. I unfortunately, even with new cars... They have swirl marks from dealers washing them. I luckily I have my trusty machine polisher!.

Ah, fair play. Sorry, Granny & eggs then. Maybe it's just me that never knew about the whole wash technique thing.

    Cheers,
    Paul.
