Coolant temperature sensor

A bit more expense Scanner flagged up coolant temperature sensor fault seems to affect other things including throttle response sensor replaced & other fault codes gone throttle response much smoother but the costs add up £33 diagnostic (I'd already done my own) £30 labour £33 for new sensor & seal plus VAT of course. £123 all in. Well at least it drives better may be better fuel consumption as well.

Yes no real complaint it saved me the hassle I'm getting too old to spend time in the freezing cold with my head buried under the bonnet.

On the other hand if you had bought VCDS you'd have saved a third of the price you paid for it on that one job

Very true but I had already diagnosed it with my Autel VAGCOM scanner but the garage wanted to check with their unit if I had done the job myself I could have saved 2/3rds of the job so I paid for being a lazy old git!
