Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1)

So its been about 2 weeks since I cleared all my faults codes, and today I rescanned. Looks like I got some problems huh? What prompted me to scan was yesterday I noticed the emission management system light had come on, and remained on, worried about my dpf, I googled a little for some info. Some advice said to drive for about 10 mins in 4^th gear about 50mph, basically above 2krevs. So I done this tonight, and the intitally I wasn’t convinced this helped. But I popped into my mums imediitally after this test drive for my dinner, and when I came back ouot, the light come on initially as I belove it should on ignition, and then went out, so maybe I did clear something out after all???
Anyway, I came home and scanned with my vagcom, and this was my results…..

Not sure if this is realted, or even an issue but I I feel my fuel drains at what feels like an alarming rate….related at all?

Does your glow plug light flicker sometimes when you are moving along? I changed this on mine and it cleared the fault and flashing glow plug light issue, very easy part to fit and you can get an aftermarket one that is manufactured by the same company as the oem one.

Hi,
Have you managed to sort this prob?
If not, do you have a loss power like imp mode? If so, check your EGR valve, it may be gunked up, give it a good clean. I have a thread on it on the A4-B7 Forum.
If you don't have limp mode, try cleaning the MAF using compressed air from a can and check the rubber vacuum hoses connected to the flap actuator.

hi, not yet, ordered a new connecting rod from audi for £8.70 as i understand this can often be the issue. i'll fit this tomorrow and report back in a few days, failing that, will try your suggestion. Thanks

so me and my mate had a look this morning, and the right side manifold, i.e. bank 1 flap was defo jammed. the left side was oscillating with engine idle, presumably to compensate for the loss of the other?? anyway, my pal gave the right one a little tug with long nose pliers, and it pulled it free from the jam. and appeared to operate properly. the left bank then stop oscillating too. both actuators moved as expected when engine was revved etc.

so, do you think the manifold is just dirty, and the flap is jamming? motor seems to work ok once it was free. bearing in mind this is an intermintant fault, therfore i pressume it stick sometimes, then other times it manages to free its self.

Thoughts?
