    Hi all,

Just bought my first Golf (upgraded from a 98 1.0 Polo) and picked it up from a local garage two weeks ago (glorious car - love it already). Hardly had chance to drive it with the snow (couple of hundred miles) but yesterday was on the way home and the ECL light came on (think that's what it's called).

Have had a read through this forum and seen a couple of possible options from Lambda sensor (nice and cheap) to throttle body (argh! expensive). Pretty much cleared my savings out for this car so I'm hoping for the cheaper. Anyway - just after two things 1) advice on what it's likely to be and 2) if there's anyone in the DY13 (Stourport / Worcestershire / Kidderminster) or DY5 (Dudley / Halesowen) region who has a vagcom and wouldn't mind giving me a quick diagnostic (garage want me to go and get a diagnostic, tell them the result and then they'll decide if the repair is covered by warranty or not).

Car drives fine, no obvious loss of power, rough start/stop, etc. Read a thread on here that suggested if it's the throttle body then a particular fuse can blow and as far as I can see that one hasn't on mine.

Any ideas / vagcoms about? Pretty please?

    Cheers in advance,
    Paul.

Vauge hope of bumping this: read somewhere that using regular unleaded instead of super can cause this as well; anyone know if there's any truth in that?
