I Have recently purchased a MK5 Golf GT TDI 140BHP On a 2004 plate. It drives great however every so often the biting point is really low to the floor and occasionaly it doesnt go into 1st gear easily. Both these problems are very minor and arnt a big problem to me but do I need to prepare for huge bill coming my way? It has 105k on with Full Service history.

    All ideas appreciated...

    Cheers
Have you tried bleeding the brakes as it might be same system as the clutch. If they separate them check clutch fluid and check no air in the system..

Biting point low to the floor is annoying and can be the clutch itself. If bleeding doesn’t work and there’s no leaks then it’s gearbox out sadly.

I have a mk 5 2.0 tdi 2003 with the same problem. My clutch is fine but it is tough to get in to 1st and reverse. I go to pull away and you lift the pedal up and it clonks in to gear
