Sorry to resurrect this post but just got the Airbag warning light up on my 2004 130 TDI Sport after having a CV joint changed and brakes bled (coincidental). Anyways I have checked the connections under the seat bright clean and shiny in fact they look like brand new. I have the battery disconnected now while having breakfast. Will I need to get the fault cleared or will it clear itself if all is OK. If I need it clearing is there anyone in South Manchester that can help with that as I don't have VCDS? Cheers Iain

OK an update, I remembered I bought an ODBC lead some while ago but it was no use on my B6 due to the canbus, downloaded VCDS Lite and checked for faults, one showing on airbag, something about low voltage on sensor (I think didn't copy it) anyway cleared the fault and when the car was next started no fault :-). Took it for MOT and it passed, went shopping and to see my Mum and when I was leaving the fault came back!!

Ah well the MOT is now good till next year so I'll register VCDAS Lite and then have another go with it but not today.

    Hi
I know this is an old post but can anyone advise me please. I have a 2005 tdi trendline 130. The airbag light came on and the codes shown are 01218 side airbag igniter and 01228 airbag cut-off switch. Is it correct to check the wiring under the passenger seat? If so, how do I avoid having to be a contortionist? It seems very hard to even touch the connector, pic attached. I did erase the codes last night and the airbag light went out, but this morning it's back.DSC_0067 small.jpg ThanksDSC_0071 small.jpg
