Hi everyone, looking to upgrade from my Passat to the A6 and so far pleased with everything I've read and seen, however, the offset pedal issue nags at me, used to have an A4 and on long journeys left me in agony,. I wondered if any forum members have any feedback? is it a pain or will I even notice??

My pedals don't seem offset - I'm perfectly comfortable. What makes you think they are?

It's just that it seems to be a big thing in a lot of the roadtests, and to me they do seem to be rather close to the bulkhead.

i would say there is a slight offset. much less than say an A4 or a 3 series. Maybe you would notice more on a manual than auto. No problems for me.

I test drove both the manual and auto and thought that the clutch pedal on the manual was too far offset towards the centre. I was probably going to get the auto anyway but that swung it for me.

Both A4's and the A5 I have had on loan did have slightly offset pedals but I found this was cured when I made minute adjustments to the driver seat then they were perfect.

The pedals are definitely offset to the right - I've run a B8 A4 for 3 years and now a C7 A6 and both have a similar level of offset if I'm honest.

If you think you're going to find it uncomfortable I suggest taking an extended test drive - my dealer was more than happy for me to take their demo for as long as I wanted

    Good luck!

I am not sure if it's the pedals which are wrong, the seat or my anatomy, but to use the pedals I have to sit up on the hump on the side of the seat.

But I am not much bothered because I use the ACC instead of the pedals nearly all the time.

Thanks guys, not really the news I was hoping for seems like a great car flawed by elementary ergonomics, wil have to give it some thought, I don't want a great car that leaves me needing back surgery every time I druve it!
