I think I have found a TPI/TSB which has SVM code which should update my ECU back to the right software & also update instrument cluster at the same time to newer software so I get speed in DIS...

So after other bit done will see what happen after update ...

    More digging around...

So from factory my car should be...

    Part No SW: 4F0 910 401 L HW: 4F0 907 401 A
    Component: 3.0L V6TDI G000AG 0040

    currently this...

    Part No SW: 4F0 910 401 A HW: 4F0 907 401 A
    Component: 3.0L V6TDI G000AG 0020

Now if I enter 4F0 910 401 A in EPC series go like this

    4F0 910 401 A > 4F0 910 402 F > 4F0 910 402 L

Now if I enter 4F0 910 401 L in EPC series go like this

    4F0 910 401 L > 4F0 910 401 A > 4F0 910 402 F > 4F0 910 402 L

    So 4F0 910 401 A version is newer than 4F0 910 401 L...

I will still have to get some verification of my homework ...

I have also found a very interesting TPI / TSB ...

    Technical product information
    Transaction No.: 2021094/5

Cruise control: set speed drops and rises again - V 6 TDI MY 05-06 Release date: 11-Dec-2009

    Customer statement / workshop findings

When the cruise control is switched on the speed drops by 10 – 20 km/h and then increases again to
the set speed - mainly between 80-120 km/h.

    Technical background

Software adjustment, modified exhaust gas recirculation.

    Measure

Update the engine control unit with the SVM Code AU01A006.

    Attachment 19322

The red underlined text is exact match for what my car had from factory... note on new section the green underlined text...

The orange underlined text is exact match for what my car has now...

The blue bold text also interests me alot ...

Just like SVM action before to ECU hardware stay same the software is upgraded...

Above TPI / TSB was extracted by using a full data file for my car ...

    Hi peeps ...

The update has been done... I now have:-

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail!
    Part No SW: 4F0 910 402 L HW: 4F0 907 401 A
    Component: 3.0L V6TDI G000AG 0020
    Revision: --H01--- Serial number:
    Coding: 0011372
    Shop #: WSC 06256 200 1048576
    VCID: 1A31F983D58873C8CF8

    No fault code found.
    Readiness: 0 0 0 0 0

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I went from 4F0 910 401 L to 4F0 910 401 A I could feel car felt better to throttle response & other driving parameters... same again going from 4F0 910 401 A to 4F0 910 402 L car feels so much better again to drive as to if it will solve/help the idle up/down hunt issue not enough time to assess yet... but my £££ is on the EGR/intake clean up to really nail the idle issue...

So this thread is over for me...

How do you find these TSB/TPI's?

    I have Part No SW: 4F7 910 401 D HW: 4F0 907 401 C
and want to find out if there is something I could upgrade as well....

My dealer is not an option, they dont even have the knowledge to find the TSB when I spell it to them...

    BTW, congrats

    Hi,

Using parts catalogue everyone's P/N for ECU (KristoffS, Sparker, A6_Chris) are all current none dropped and updated...

Via the catalogue KristoffS=BPP, Sparker=ASB, A6_Chris=ASB engine codes...

Via the catalogue KristoffS=DPF, Sparker=NO DPF, A6_Chris=NO DPF...

    Via the catalogue KristoffS=MY08, Sparker=MY07, A6_Chris=MY08...

There is also KristoffS & Sparker= AllRoad... A6_Chris=Saloon...

The TPI/TSB is only for MY05-MY06....V6 2.7/3.0 TDi...

Even though everyone who gave their "Coding II" info had such different combos of 2.7 / 3.0 TDi cars all had "00000"...

Sorry if I missed anything. I'm expecting you to give a 5 digit code for coding II. I'm having the same problem. I want to change the ecu coding but don't know the coding II code.
